Armand Grobler
Rhulani Safaris Director
Armand Grobler was born in South Africa and raised on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. His passion for wildlife came from a young age as he watched his hero, Steve Irwin, on TV and in various Wildlife Documentaries.
Armand soon started imitating his hero, catching snakes and lizards while also giving reptile shows and demonstrations from the tender age of only 12!
At the age of 14, Armand started working in the local Pet Store at St Ives Village Green. He built up an impressive Resumé which includes working at Taronga Zoo (YATZ programme), raising lions and leopards in Africa, and being chased by wild animals (buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion, and hippo!).
He’s also travelled the Kalahari in search of the Black Maned Lions and of course living out his dream in the Greater Kruger Park doing what he loves most (photographing the African BIG CATS!).
Armand’s passion is contagious which his guests greatly enjoy. With Rhulani Safaris his dream of sharing his beautiful country with guests from all over the world has become his reality.
Today, Armand works on several commercial, high profile productions, including filming and camera trap research photography around Southern Africa. For those interested in getting involved in commercial publication work, contact us today for more information about how you can experience the life of a full time professional photographer.
