Big Cats of the Lower Zambezi Photo Safari

Introducing our prestigious, Big Cats of the Lower Zambezi Photo Safari, a tour woven in the magic of Africa’s beauty, tranquility and unparalleled photographic opportunities. Explore the unparralel beauty of Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park on a Photo Safari experience with Rhulani Safaris. The Lower Zambezi is not only famous for its high density of big cats, but also for the breathtaking scenery that brings to life the images captured there. Few places on the African continent can compare to Zambia’s Lower Zambezi when it comes to landscape and wildlife experiences.

Nestled along the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, Lower Zambezi National Park is a pristine wilderness where Africa’s most iconic wildlife roams freely. With its breathtaking landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and abundant wildlife, this untouched paradise offers an unparalleled photographic safari experience.

Our new Rhulani Safaris Lower Zambezi Photo Safari combines incredible sightings, comfortable accommodation, delicious dining and spectacular scenery woven into the tranquil magic of the African continent. This is a safari like no other, an experience you don’t want to miss out on.

Wildlife Encounters Like No Other

Lower Zambezi is a haven for wildlife photographers seeking close-up encounters with Africa’s legendary species. This, Lower Zambezi Photo Safari tour has a keen focus on Africa’s iconic big cats, particularly the leopard, of which Zambia is famously renowned for. With quality sightings even more superior than South Africa’s iconic Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the Lower Zambezi offers a high density of big cats with some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable.

Elephants wade gracefully through the river, their silhouettes reflecting in the golden waters at sunset. Towering baobabs and lush floodplains provide the perfect backdrop for thrilling big cat sightings, from stealthy leopards to powerful prides of lions.

Buffalo herds numbering in the hundreds graze along the riverbanks, while elusive African wild dogs weave through the woodlands. The park is also home to an incredible variety of antelope species, including kudu, waterbuck, and bushbuck, making for stunning wildlife compositions.

Photographic Africa’s Apex Predators in Paradise

Zambia’s Lower Zambezi’s rich ecosystem offers rare opportunities to capture predators in action. Lions ambush unsuspecting prey along the floodplains, while crocodiles lurk just beneath the surface, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The elusive leopard, master of camouflage, is often spotted draped over tree branches, bathed in the dappled light of the forest.

Birdwatchers Dream

With over 400 recorded bird species, Lower Zambezi is a paradise for bird photographers. Capture the vibrant flashes of carmine bee-eaters nesting along the riverbanks, or zoom in on the regal African fish eagle as it swoops down to snatch its prey. From the dazzling malachite kingfisher to the striking saddle-billed stork, every moment is an opportunity for the perfect shot.

Diverse Landscapes and Scenery

Lower Zambezi is a photographer’s dream, offering a variety of breathtaking landscapes. The mirror-like waters of the Zambezi River reflect the fiery hues of an African sunset, creating a mesmerizing scene. Acacia woodlands, open floodplains, and rugged escarpments provide an ever-changing backdrop, ensuring that every frame tells a unique story.
